Koehn Ranch

Buhl, Idaho

The Koehn family consists of Derek, Linda, and our four children. We live in Buhl, Idaho, where we enjoy each day on the farm raising non gmo crops and hay for our cows. Thankful too for our Church and the rural area we can raise our family in. We were married August of 2001. Derek was a truck driver, and I was a school teacher. Derek grew up milking cows and I grew up in Wisconsin on a dairy farm as well . We always wanted to get into farming and cattle on our own and when opportunity arose shortly after our marriage we jumped in with both feet . As time went on we purchased 3 pair of purebred Angus cows for $2500 a pair . We grew that small herd slowly and acres climbed to where we became quite busy with Derek still trucking over the road in the winter but finally decided to sell the truck and slow down and focus more on the children most of all and the farm and cows needed more attention also. We were excited when we found Desert Mountain as another great option to better our agricultural life with, and we found there was respect and care for each one in the co-op and the desire to take care of the land and be sustainable was very much what we were looking for.
